Who am I?
My name is Christopher Stehno. I am an Senior Java Developer in the Dallas, Texas area working for a large 100-year old company. I have been doing web development and software development in one form or another since 1995. It is a hobby that became my career (and oddly enough, it is also still a hobby). I am semi-active in the open source development community, with my own projects and with bug fixes for other projects.
I lived in and around Tucson, Arizona for about 25 years, then moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area in 2008 to start a new job and give a new city a try. DFW is great and it really feels like home.
My formal education is in Chemical Engineering (B.S.). I worked in the industry for two years and realized that it was not for me. I am a Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform and I am currently working on the Developer Certification project, though that seems to keep being put on the back burner.
I read and watch all the science fiction that I can get my hands on.
I have been married to my beautiful and loving wife since 2001 and we have one over-pampered cat that is like a child to us.
